Organizes Inter-departmental Competition At University of Okara

OKARA (May 31, 2019):  As many as eight Inter departmental competitions held at University of Okara under the umbrella of The Rejoicers Club from May 20 to May 30, 2019. The event included 

1. English Essay Writing Competition
2. Urdu essay writing Competition
3. Arts Competition, 
4. Qirat, Hammad & Naat Competition 
5. Quiz Competition
6. Stand-Up Comedy Competition
7. English Speech Competition
8. Urdu Speech Competition

On May 20, Day-1 of the event, English essay writing competition was held. Although 72 students got themselves registered but only 40 of them participated. The competition aimed to enhance creative thinking and writing abilities of students. The judges from the same university were Mr. Kamran Abbas and Ms. Maria Sarwar (English Department) and the external judge was Mr. Sayyed Mashud-ul-Hassan from GC.

May 21, Day-2, was the day of arts competitions. There were four categories in arts competitions. These included calligraphy, drawing, painting and handicraft making. More than 115 people participated in arts competitions. More than 200 paintings were presented by the participants. The guests of the day were Mr. Sharjeel Ahmed (PRO) University of Okara, Dr. Shoaib Saleem (HOD Math Department), Mr. Irfan Ahmed and Mr. Ilyas Mehmood.

May 22 was the 3^rd day of the event. Urdu Essay Writing competition was held on this day at UO Room no 207. More than 40 students participated. Out of three topics, one was chosen by examiners to be written upon by students. Guests of the day were Mr. Dr. Shahzad Ahmed, Mr. Dr. Shoaib Saleem, Mr. Rana Kamran Mehmood and Mr. Mehar Ali.

Qirat, Hamad and Naat competition were held on day 04 at room 207. More than 75 students actively participated in all the three Categories. The events were an initiative to increase religious awareness among them. The guests of the competition were Dr. Anwar Ul Haq Tayyabi and Qari Sarfraz Sahib from Islamic Study Department.

Quiz Competition was held on day 05. Students from all the departments participated in the form of teams. Each team consisted of 4 members. The event was hosted by Saima Rafique.

Stand-up Comedy Competition was held on May 27, 6^th day of the event. It aimed to entertain students and to refresh their memory. Many students from different department took part in competition.

Urdu Speech Competition was held in Education Department on May 28. The competition aimed to enhance the speaking abilities of students. Guests of the day were Dr. Shahzad Ahmed, Dr. Tahir Khan Farooqi, Dr. Nadia Gillani and Dr. Khalid Saleem.

May 30 was the day of English Speech Competition. The topic was “Discipline Ensures Success”. Guests of the day were Miss Maria Sarwar and Miss Nelofer Shabeer.
